"When?" You ask.

This is the question everyone's asking us. So, here is my best thoroughly analyzed educated guess.

The earliest: The soonest I'd expect to hear something is in two weeks. China usually sends out new referrals once a month in the "traditional" program. I guess it's possible they may start doing this for the Waiting Child progam too. If they do, we can expect the next group of children to be available for referrals in mid-May.

The latest: China never does things on our timetable! I think they will let the childrens' files accumulate until they have enough to send a large group of 100+ like last time. Under the new system, it would be dumb for them to send a small group. I believe they accumulated files for about three months for this last group. Therefore, I think we could hear something in mid-July.

Our best guess: Corin thinks it will be this month. I think it will be July. Who will the lucky winner be? I actually hope my husband wins this one :)

sidenote: here's a shot of my two loves from this weekend.

Settling

The excitement from the last two weeks is settling now. This week I was actually able to focus on work without my mind wondering every 5 seconds! Now all we can do is get back to live-as-normal and wait, which we've become quite good at. Our phonelist of medical advisors is ready. My list of referral questions is ready, laying blank on my desk just waiting to be filled with my shaky handwriting. We have no clue when our agency will receive the next group of children. It could be in 2 weeks. It could be 4 months. Luckily we are crazy busy and honestly, after the recent flurry of referrals, it's nice to have my brain back!
