Tough Days

Sorry I've not been good at updating. We've had some difficulties at our house. Our oldest daughter is having a terrible time adjusting to sisterhood. She is acting out against me and the new baby. On top of that she just started full-day Kindergarten. Her whole world has been turned upside down and she is reacting in a very hostile way. I feel like our family could be on "Super Nanny" with the way she's been behaving, and I feel like I don't even know her right now. At the end of every day I am so exhausted from trying everything I can to deal with her and help her. But it seems all I do is loose my patience with her and then I feel guilty about being a horrid mother.

On top of that I began round 3 of stomache cramps/body aches, etc. We are being tested for Giardia (me and Sunder). Lovely. I am just focusing now on getting our health back, but I feel like someone took a rusty rake and scraped my insides out with it. Looking forward to brighter days when I can actually enjoy both kiddos...

You are NOT a horrid mother, quite the opposite - you're all just going through the adjustment period. I'm sending lots of hugs and positive thoughts your way!!! I hope to see you Sunday if you feel better.

I read another blog - The Wanders Child (I think) and they just came back with the same illness. I am so sorry that you are feeling bad and I hope that things get better soon.

Take care,

Ashley

Hint: Sunder is 3 days older than the newest love of my life :)

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. It took Lauren about 6 months to adjust to being a big sister. In time Riley will realize that her parents have enough love for both two kids and she won't feel so threatened.
I hope you can get some meds and start feeling better soon!

If you can spend some special one on one time with Riley just once a week, I bet you will be amazed to find how differently she feels and behaves the rest of the week. This strategy has worked wonders with our kids.

Oh man. Coming home with new baby is hard enough without coming home sickly! I hope you feel better soon and that Riley gets in the big sister groove pretty soon.
