Small Victories

Today is my birthday and the last 24 hours have seen some small victories with our new little one. I won't sugarcoat it- this has been tough. She throws the most holy moly tantrums, mulitple times a day. But here's what's happened in the last 24 hours:

- We got her bathed! Yippee! She screamed the whole time but at the end we had a fairly clean baby!
- She will allow her shoes to be removed at night. Again, a big step for her and us.
- She let Corin hold her in snuggly pack!! She threw intermitent fits, but she seemed to finally accept it and I think she liked being in the pack a lot.
- Later that day, Corin walked into the room and she didn't freak out- YEAH!
- We took her to the doctor because she has a raspy cough and she has bronchitis. The doctor prescribed an interesting concotion of things for her and she has had one of two nebulizer treatments. Of course, she hates and the medicines and nebulizers, so more tanturms are the result, but we are happy to be working towards getting her healthy. (She has the second nebulizer today).
- She let Corin feed her too. I think she is realizing that he is not going away :)
- I got a 2 hour nap yesterday. That was awesome!!

We went to the Chinese version of Walmart yesterday and got loaded up with supplies. That was fun. We went to the play area and I got to see a bit of Sunder's personality come out there, so that was special.

No need to sugar-coat. I imagine most of us know how hard it can be. Glad to hear of your victories though and know there are many more to come with that beautiful girl and they will be all that much sweeter as they will be well earned. ;)

All the best for the rest of your trip.

First of all, Sunder is beautiful, like her big sister. It was hard for us in China and for the next several months home with our second adoption. Now at six months, things are really great. I think it is a tougher transition with a two year old!

We are in Frisco, on our way to California. thank goodness for wireless internet in the hotel! I'm sitting on the bed with my daughter and we are looking at pics of Sunder.
She points and says: "BABY! BABY!"
me: "She's older than you are, silly."
her: "yep."
thanks for sharing your journey! I'm so glad to hear Riley is such an enthusiastic big sis!
